A touch

of fall in the air.  This morning seemed a lot cooler than it has over the last few weeks.  Both my walks today were really nice.  I had picked up enough muscadines yesterday to make another batch of jelly today.  If it jells, I think I've got the muscadine thing down pat.  I am going to put the recipe for it and blueberry-peach jam on Farm House Recipes.  I hope you check it out and enjoy them.  Farm House Recipes is a blog that I started so that I could share some of mine and my mom's favorite recipes with another generation of cooks.  Thank you all for stopping by my blogs.

Can I Call The Crows Daddy

Sitting in the corn field on a cool fall morning with my dad, watching him call in crows and shooting them.  As we sat there he explained that if we didn't shoot them they would eat the corn before we could it all gathered in.  I was about five and he would sometimes let me call them in for him.  I can remember sitting so close to him that I could feel him breath. It was so warm sitting next to him. I felt protected from the world. Mama my inhaler is empty!!

As my mom and I were sitting in the kitchen watching the snow fall,when James comes thru and says his inhaler is empty.  What!! My inhaler is empty!  Don't you have an extra?  No, this is my spare, I forgot to tell you that it was almost empty.  Great, I don't know if we can get out to get to the drug store.  Deborah Ann, if you are gonna go, you better go now.  If you wait any longer it will get dark before you can get back.  I better call and see if the drug store is still open.  It seems like every time it snows somebody has to run out of medicine!  If it isn't James, it's mama or one of the other kids.  I hate this road when it snows!! Fixing up My Space

My son and his family have been gracious enough to allow me to live with them since I have come back to Alabama.  We have finally gotten things moved around in the basement so that I can create myself an efficiency apartment.   There are so many things that I want to add to my space.  I've been looking for stuff online and have found several sites that have a lot of things that I want.    I found one site called "tiger direct" they have such neat and affordable stuff! I don't have a lot of cash to spend so I have to look for ways to save on all the things I buy.  I also need a new bed!  I have my own bathroom that I want to dress up.  So now that I will have a regular pay check coming in I'll be able to do lots of the things to really turn my space into a home.
