Time Management

Wow!  I have got to get myself on some sort of time management program.  Working third shift is hard to get used to.  I have worked third before when I was younger and didn't have a problem with getting things done. Now, however is a different story!!  I work, I sleep and can't seem to accomplish anything else. It's not that I have a lot do, it's just that I want to do my share to help keep things up here at the house.  My son doesn't charge me any rent, and he doesn't ask me to buy groceries so I feel I need to help him in other ways.  I love to work in the yard, so I need to alot myself some time for that, and I feel like if Anna cooks then I need to clean the kitchen.  It's just some little things that will help them out and make me feel like I'm doing something to make things easier for them.  Another thing, is that I love to write on my blogs and I have got to make time for that.  Sometimes when I sit down to write I get so tired I fall asleep w

Old Trucks

Our yard is blessed with old trucks!  One of which is a 1964 Ford. It's a neat old truck that needs some love.  It has now become the project of my fifteen year old grandson.  It didn't start out that way, my son took it on trade for some photography work, and we were going to restore it for his studio.  It needs brakes and the rear main seal replaced.  It had been sitting in the yard waiting for it's turn in the shop, and this past week the boys took the ole John Deere and pulled it around to the shop.  Since it isn't running we could only get it to the front doors of the shop before we had to wench it in.  The come-along was a great invention!!! My Mom had given my son a lot of my Dad's tools before she died and it brought back some nice memories to see my son using his Granddad's chain and some of his other tools. Anyway, after they had gotten it in the shop and worked on it for a while, my grandson said he would really like to have the old truck instead of

Old Friends

Last night at work two ladies about my age came in and one said aren't you Deborah and I said yes.  She said her name was Lib.  She and I were best friends when we were in the first and second grade!  We haven't seen each other in years!!  She and the lady she was with are both single like me and we are all going to get together and have lunch and catch up. I have seen a lot of old friends and karate students since I have started my new job.  It's not the best job I've ever had, but it's certainly not the worst.  I really like it and it is not a hard job, I can see myself doing this job til I'm to old.  As long as my mind will hold up, and now that I am using it more maybe it will last longer.

Cubby

Cubby, is a dog that my grandson has had since he was two.  That makes her thirteen in people years.  Thirteen is 104 in dog years if my figures are right, it is 8 times people years.  She seems healthy, her teeth are a little worn and she is and always has been a picky eater, but all in all she is doing good for her age.  We were told that she is a wolf hybrid, we have never had her DNA run so she could be about anything.  She has beautiful blue eyes, and looks a lot like the white wolf that pop killed a long time ago in Canada.  She has the fur of a cold climate dog and she loves the snow.  She likes to sleep in the snow and when she gets dusted with it she is hard to find.  She doesn't bark, but does sometimes howl at the moon!  She will talk to you if she is in the mood, people think you're crazy when you tell them that, but it's true.  My grandson really loves her and she has helped him through some tuff times.  It will really be hard on him when something happens to

The Pet

Contributed by Maria Ruiz My husband and I have been talking about getting a dog but to be honest I don’t really know what we’re going to do with it all day. We own our own consulting business and it’s going to be tricky enough getting him in the office with us without the health board noticing but I think we can manage since we were able to sneak the DirectTV businesses satellite dish by them! I really just want a fuzzy friend to have around to chase things and snuggle with me when my husband’s out of town and I know he really wants something to go running with him. I think the biggest fight we have is over what kind of dog to get but I think if that’s our biggest problem then we’re doing just fine. I love my husband to death but sometimes I just wish he was a little more accommodating to my needs but hey, I guess that’s part of the deal when you get married!
