First Impressions

I know that you aren't suppose to judge people on your first impression, but we all do. Now let me tell you a story.  Years back when I was a martial arts instructor our organization made some changes.  We put on this big tournament so that all of us in Alabama could meet the founder of the organization we were going to join.  My class and I went to take part in said tournament.  There was a big dinner and Black Belt meeting planned the evening before the tournament. Being the conservative woman that I am I had planned on wearing the business outfit that I had worn to work.  I was sharing a room with one of the Mom's her two children and another teenager that we had brought with us.  The mother tried to talk me into wearing a mini skirt!  I said NO!  Then her son says, "Ms. Deb you ask us to do some of the hardest things ever, it's just a skirt, how hard is that?"  Yeah, okay,  I wore the skirt.  I was embarrassed, mother of three, over thirty in a mini skirt!  One of the fellows that I sparred with all the time walks by, does a double take and says %^& you got legs!!!  What have I been kicking you with?  I know, but you got LEGS!!!!  I got a lot of crap like that all night! Needless to say I made a lasting impression with the skirt.

Relationships

In today's world everything is much more complex than it was when our parents were growing up.  When I was growing up we never heard my mom and dad argue.  Now some of the things I here young couples say to each other makes my head spin. When I was growing up things were much simpler.  Daddy went out and earned our living and Mama stayed home and took care of everything else as well as working in our field or a neighbor. Now it takes both the husband and wife working just to make ends meet.  My Dad said having a good marriage was like hooking two mules to a plow.  If they work together you can plow all day and get a lot done and your fields look great.  But if one is pulling in one way and the other one pulling in the other direction you can't get anything done. Same with relationships, it you don't share the same goals or the same plan for getting to that goal you will never get to that goal.  True love has these three qualities, faith, trust, and love.  Thank you for stop

Mama my inhaler is empty!!

As my mom and I were sitting in the kitchen watching the snow fall,when James comes thru and says his inhaler is empty.  What!! My inhaler is empty!  Don't you have an extra?  No, this is my spare, I forgot to tell you that it was almost empty.  Great, I don't know if we can get out to get to the drug store.  Deborah Ann, if you are gonna go, you better go now.  If you wait any longer it will get dark before you can get back.  I better call and see if the drug store is still open.  It seems like every time it snows somebody has to run out of medicine!  If it isn't James, it's mama or one of the other kids.  I hate this road when it snows!! James, get your coat on so you can go with your mama.  We barely got the car out of the driveway.  Thankfully there had been some traffic on the road, we don't have snow plows here.  If we can get to the main road we can get to town.  We slipped several times but we got to the drug store and back up the mountain on the main road.

Someplace New

My ex was always talking about Canada, and hunting there.  I have given it a lot of thought and I may just go up and stay there for a while. Looking through Calgary apartments for rent has given me a wide range to choose from.  I still haven't made up my mind. I don't know if I want to stay in the city or really get out in the country.  I am a country girl, but Calgary has so much to offer and the change of pace might be good for me.  I guess the next step would be to find a job there.  Wish me luck!
