69 Chevy Nova

Well, one project finished and another rolls in!!  My son's friend was looking at cars on the internet and found a '69 Nova.  They went and looked at it and got it at a great price so they brought it home.  It is tubed out and has a big block 454 in it.  They fired it up and she sounds great and doesn't smoke.  It made me think about the '72 Nova I had when my oldest was about 13.  It was a great car, it had a 350 with a 4 bolt main.  I had the car forever!!  James was playing soccer and I traded it for a station wagon while he was at school.  I got a friend to take him to the game and I was suppose to bring drinks for half time and when the kids came off the field they looked lost because they were looking for the Nova.

Can I Call The Crows Daddy

Sitting in the corn field on a cool fall morning with my dad, watching him call in crows and shooting them.  As we sat there he explained that if we didn't shoot them they would eat the corn before we could it all gathered in.  I was about five and he would sometimes let me call them in for him.  I can remember sitting so close to him that I could feel him breath. Relationships

In today's world everything is much more complex than it was when our parents were growing up.  When I was growing up we never heard my mom and dad argue.  Now some of the things I here young couples say to each other makes my head spin. When I was growing up things were much simpler.  Daddy went out and earned our living and Mama stayed home and took care of everything else as well as working in our field or a neighbor. Now it takes both the husband and wife working just to make ends meet.  My Dad said having a good marriage was like hooking two mules to a plow.  If they work together you can plow all day and get a lot done and your fields look great.  But if one is pulling in one way and the other one pulling in the other direction you can't get anything done. Same with relationships, it you don't share the same goals or the same plan for getting to that goal you will never get to that goal.  True love has these three qualities, faith, trust, and love.  Thank you for stop

Mama my inhaler is empty!!

As my mom and I were sitting in the kitchen watching the snow fall,when James comes thru and says his inhaler is empty.  What!! My inhaler is empty!  Don't you have an extra?  No, this is my spare, I forgot to tell you that it was almost empty.  Great, I don't know if we can get out to get to the drug store.  Deborah Ann, if you are gonna go, you better go now.  If you wait any longer it will get dark before you can get back.  I better call and see if the drug store is still open.  It seems like every time it snows somebody has to run out of medicine!  If it isn't James, it's mama or one of the other kids.  I hate this road when it snows!! James, get your coat on so you can go with your mama.  We barely got the car out of the driveway.  Thankfully there had been some traffic on the road, we don't have snow plows here.  If we can get to the main road we can get to town.  We slipped several times but we got to the drug store and back up the mountain on the main road.
