My Life In A Nutshell

Someone ask me how I would summarize my life, so here we go.  I was born the daughter of a sharecropper who barley could write his name, and a mamma who only had a third grade education.  I was truly blessed to have them as parents.  They worked really hard to provide for us and see that we all had an education.  Since I was the baby I was my daddy's little tom boy and my mamma was the most special woman in the world.

I have been married and divorced three times.  We'll just call them irreconcilable differences.  My first husband and I had a son and my second husband and I have a daughter and a son.  I have a total of 9 grandchildren. I am very family oriented and spent most of my life as a  single mom.  Several years after the death of my dad, and my divorce from my second husband my Mom moved in with us.
She lived with us and helped me raise my children. She was more than just my Mom she was my best friend.

I was forced into an early retirement because of a fall that I took at work.  I am by no means a wealthy woman.  I have a had a good life with all the challenges and accomplishments that go along with it.  I love to do a variety of things and my taste in music ranges from Aldean to ZZ Top.

I currently live in a 2 bedroom mobile home along with a cat, dog, and occasional grandchild. I am one mile from my oldest son.

So there you have it,  me in a nutshell.

Hunting Season....Use Caution

When I got up this morning there was a little chill in the air when I let the dog out.  As I stood there I thought about all the cool mornings I had spent in a deer stand. I didn't hunt like most people.  My husband had built several shooting houses on our property. My favorite was just a short walk from the house. From there I had some nice shooting lanes and could enjoy the quiet still of an early morning.  There is nothing like being in the woods as the sun comes up and the creatures start coming to life.  I have enjoyed things some never see, like a buck with frost still on his back and the steam coming from his nostrils, what a magnificent site. I've also watched as a red tailed hawk swooped down and picked up a squirrel for his meal.  As these wonderful memories came flooding back I also remember just how dangerous it can be to hunt. Fall Is In The Air

Cool nights, warm days I love this kind of weather!!  I have become an avid deer hunter and I look forward to this time of year.  I love to sit in my stand and enjoy nature.  I like to get in there before daylight and wait for the sun to come up and all the woods to come to life.  Have you ever seen a deer with frost still on it's back?  Have you ever watched as two bucks fight for dominance?  Have you watched a bob cat our for his morning stroll?  Have you ever heard the sound of a hawk in the air and then watch him swoop down and grab a squirrel off the ground?  Have you ever watched as wild turkeys scratch for food, then after they have gone, watch as a coyote comes through looking for them?  I hope you enjoy the outdoors and the nature around you!  Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Stubborn Car!

My grandson's car has been running great, so he and I decided to go to the mall today to look for some things.  No problems going, but coming home was a problem!!  When we came out of the mall, it started right up and then we stopped to get us a soda.  My grandson went inside and I sat in the car with it idling.  It sounded like it was running out of gas even though it had over a half a tank., then it died!!  The stubborn little thing wouldn't start back up for over an hour.  Then when we got back home my son had my grandson take the throttle body off so he could get to one of the sensors.  Even though my grandson kinda knew how to take it off he got himself all worked into a tizzy over how to get it done.  I came close to throwing a wrench at him and sending him in the house just like I used to do my son when he would start that junk when we were working on a car, but I didn't.  He had a bolt that wanted to be a pain and my son showed him an easier way to get it out.  My s
