Respect and Discipline

I was watching our local news a couple of nights ago and one of the leading stories was about the fighting and discipline at a local High School.  It seems that parents are not being informed fast enough on school wide issues. Disciplinary rules and actions of administrators have been the topic of  school board meetings for the last few months.

One of the board members was saying they had to get these problems under control. That staff should not be in fear of reporting these incidents. She also stated the schools should be able to remove unruly students.

My opinion is that respect and discipline starts at home while children are still toddlers.  There is a line between discipline and abuse we must be careful not to cross.  However it is our job as parents and grandparents to give children a wall of authority at home.  Children need to learn at home that there are consequences for their actions.  Parents should not fear losing their children while trying to teach them how to behave respectfully.  Teachers should not fear their students. Fellow students should not fear their classmates.  The only way to fix this is one home at a time.

 Parents need to go back to being parents!  Teachers and other well meaning people need to stay out of a family's business.  In other words if you see a toddler or a child throwing a screaming tantrum in a store and the mamma or daddy reprimands that child, mind your own business. Don't go calling the police or getting their tag number so you can call DHR. Let parents be parents!  The same goes for the schools get all the facts before you stick your nose in someone else's business. If you can't correct children at home and teachers can't correct them at school, they will continue to fill the jail cells across this land.
   

Aggravated

I am sure I have mentioned more than once,  how aggravated I get when trying to lean something new on the computer. I have a new tablet and laptop,  they are so different from the last ones that I get all nervous and just have to walk away.  Patience with electronics is not my strong suit.

I am making some progress. I am posting this from my tablet. Next order of business is to figure out how to get pictures from my phone to my tablet. With any luck I should be back posting like a pro by Christmas.

Rainy Day

It is a rainy day here in North Alabama!  The kind of day you spend reading or watching movies. My mom would have the sewing machine fired up or be putting squares together for a quilt by hand.  Me,  I am trying to figure out how to get pictures from my phone to the computer.  Once upon a time I blogged everyday, now I only do it occasionally. Fist it was moving, then it was computer issues, then working 60 hours a week, now it is learning to do new things.

I have a new computer thanks to my son and his wife. Along with that comes new features and things that don't work quite the same. I am a bit overwhelmed at the moment but am trying to work through it all.  I also have a new tablet to work on when I am on the go. Now that I am retired I look forward to getting back in the swing of blogging and doing a lot of the things that I have put on the back burner for so long.

Immigration Hault

     What's wrong with stopping immigration for a few months so we can figure out who is here legally and who isn't?  It just makes good sense for the safety and security of our country and our people.  Living in this country is a privilege not a right.  People who truly want to come here should do it through the proper channels.

     Refugees can be helped better by raising money and working with their home countries than bringing them here.  When we take those types of actions they are able to live in their homeland and practice their beliefs without infringing on ours.  If you bring people here who don't really want to be here they are not going to make efforts to become Americans.

     We may all have immigrant blood in us but we are Americans First!  Our focus should be on doing what is right to preserve our country and our way of life.  I personally do not want any part of Socialism!  Those who do should find themselves a Socialist county and move there.  I want our borders secured.   I want the people who are here illegally to either register to be here or be deported.  There has got to be a way for the people who are here illegally to register with the state department and either work toward citizenship or a work visa so they can return back home.      

Women March Why?

Tell me why women all over the world are marching? Some say it's over control of their bodies. Others say it's for equality, then there are those who say we don't have a legitimate President. They have all given up their dignity, morals, and validity to even be heard.  These women do not speak for me, or for the majority of women that I associate with.

The real women of this country were heard on November of 2016 when we went to the voting booth and voted in Donald Trump as our President.  I have a hard time believing the disgraceful behavior of the democratic party. You put forth a bad choice for people to vote for, therefore you lost. Russia did not cast my vote or the votes of my friends and family.  This is the very reason that we have the Electoral College.  With the exception of a few states Trump won the popular vote giving him the votes needed to win the Electoral College.  It is the way our Government works. You don't like it move to a country that is more in line with your views.

Since when does the government control your choices of sexual behavior. Just because you choose to spread your legs and get  pregnant doesn't mean I should have to pay for you to have an abortion, I didn't make the choice to have unprotected sex you did.  As for equality I have fought for it most of my life in a responsible way. Not only have I worked for equal pay but I have participated in sports that were predominately male. I want our President to succeed.  I want our Country to be respected again.   I want a freeze on immigration until we are sure that everyone here is here legally.  I want medical services based on your income and the type of insurance that you need.

Trump, Good Or Bad

Everyone is all over Trump for things he said years ago. It seems they have forgotten about all the Presidents who had Mistresses in the White House! Donald Trump has never been my choice of candidates, however he is the one at the top of the Republican ticket.  A vote for anyone else is a  vote for Hillary Clinton.

We do not have the time to orchestrate a viable write in campaign for Mike Pence. Although I think he would make a very good President. We should stand our ground and back Donald Trump or be prepared to relinquish our county to the socialist.  Now is the first time in my life that I fear for my country and my fellow Americans.  We need to realize that we are not White Americans, African Americans, or Hispanic Americans, we are all Americans.  The hopes and dreams of our children and grandchildren rest with our vote in November.

Do you want your children to grow up with dreams of a better life or the knowledge that it never gets any better because government won't allow it. Do you want your children to be safe when they go to a football game? Do you want your wives and daughters to be safe on their way to and from work?  Do we as women want to turn back the clock on all the things we have accomplished over the years?

Donald Trump is no worse than Bill Clinton and certainly not as bad a Hillary.  I think he will surround himself with knowledgeable people.  I think he will nominate conservative Justices to the Supreme Court. I think that other countries will respect him because they know he won't play their games.  I think he has the ability to get not just our Congressional Leaders to the Conference table, but leaders from around the world.  I may be wrong and him turn out to be worse that Obama and Jimmy Carter combined, but I'd rather take my chances with him than Hillary.

Good morning, just wanted to fill you in on the latest. I, like a lot of people my age have retired from my public job. I am in the process of winding down my life to enjoy family and friends. I have a few hobbies, one of which includes my youngest granddaughter, Charley. We love to find butterflies and take their pictures. I hope to have more time to write, as it is something I really enjoy.
